Bridal Gowns
With most forms of fashion, you see trends that change seasonally, bridal fashion is however, a little different. Fashion and style have no rules, you can wear whichever gown you love for whichever season!
Of course, some gowns do have a fabulously wintery feel to them and likewise with a gown that feels more summer appropriate. Some gowns lend themselves perfectly to a destination wedding and some to a quintessentially British castle.
We see styles come back around time after time, and with a great bridal designer, your gown will never date. I know it’s difficult with the amount of temptation with new gowns all over the internet – we’ve all seen those gorgeous Australian gowns that are impossible to get your hands on!
My advise would be to try not to focus on the ‘instagram’ dresses, stick to what’s you and show your personal style through your bridal gown, just as you do when styling your everyday wardrobe. Then of course, once you have chosen your perfect bridal gown, try and stop looking!
I have put together a selection of gowns we have in store that would be perfect for a Spring/Summer wedding! – This of course absolutely doesn’t mean that these gowns can’t be worn in Autumn/Winter, this is just a guide!
The first style perfect for a wedding in the sun – a lace fit and flare.
Beautifully fitted, usually with a stunning low back to keep you cool! So many of our fit and flare gowns are adorned with the most intricate, embellished laces.
One gown that sprung to mind is the fabulously feminine Scarlett by Lillian West, her 3D floral appliques and low back detail are a dream, not to mention her beautiful tulle bows which are detachable to transform your bridal look from day to night! Scarlett also has the most amazingly detailed train, carrying the embellishment right to the end of the gown.
Another beautifully fitted, lace gown is the show-stopping Narine by Blue by Enzoani, Narine is equal parts feminine and sexy. Her sheer yet structured bodice has a sweetheart neckline and her 3D floral applique off shoulder straps are detachable to again, change up your look from day to night! Narine has the most incredible long train featuring lace and tulle panels for a pretty fan effect.
The second style (suitable all year round) but beautiful to bring the drama for a summer wedding is a gown with structure and texture, sometimes the detail in your gown could be the texture of the fabric, a dramatic sleeve or buttons to the end of the train!
The first gown I immediately thought of, as she is one of my absolute favourites! Is the incredible Valeria by Jesus Peiro. Valeria’s beautifully layered fabric was created especially for this gown and it is truly stunning. The beauty of this gown is that she has the fullness of a ballgown but is surprisingly lightweight! Can you tell that we love a gown that can be transformed from day to night? Valeria’s puff sleeve bolero can be removed to transform her into a strapless gown, ready to dance the night away!
Another beautifully textured gown is the chic and modern brides dream, Yara!
Her fabric is ‘Cobra Taffeta’ which has a beautiful texture to her, again this fabric holds her shape whilst being fabulously lightweight! Yara’s modern square neckline and thick straps are super flattering, showing off the decolatage beautifully. Yara also has nude illusion side panels for a cut-out effect, giving a modern twist to a classic shape.
The last (but certainly not least) style of gowns perfect for a Spring/Summer or destination wedding is sparkle! We have so many incredible gowns adorned with sparkle which catches the light (or sun) beautifully! One of the newest additions to the boutique is the stunning Omarra by Blue by Enzoani, a floaty and feminine tulle gown with a sparkle layer which looks truly magical under the light.
This ethereal gown is again surprisingly lightweight, so perfect for travelling. Her intricately beaded straps and embellished floral appliques make this special gown truly show stopping!
Another show stopping new arrival from Blue by Enzoani is Olani, another super feminine and floaty gown adorned with sparkle and 3D floral appliques. This gown would be perfect to twirl the evening away. Her illusion straps and illusion back detail give the effect of the embellishments being directly on the skin and have such an ethereal effect!

Again, there are absolutely no rules with bridal fashion, most gowns can work for each and every season and look truly fabulous!
